The Board on Human Sciences (BoHS) and the Council of Administrators of Family and Consumer Sciences (CAFCS) invite their members to the 2019 joint BoHS/CAFCS Spring Conference, themed The Human Sciences’ Role in Promoting Rural Prosperity and Quality of Life.
The keynote presentations and program sessions will provide many opportunities for interaction. In addition to a presentation by April C. Mason, former Provost and Senior Vice President at Kansas State University, on tackling administrative challenges, other conference topics include areas of primary concern to the Human Sciences and our role in promoting innovative, impactful research and teaching models that can be adopted at each of our institutions. We will be taking a closer look at some issues confronting rural communities throughout the country—opioid addiction, suicide prevention, mental and physical wellness, affordable housing, and discrimination revolving around sexual/gender orientation — and our unique role in the Human Sciences to research, educate, and engage in our communities to promote the science and art of living well in our complex world.
