The AVP has institution-wide responsibility for leadership, management, coordination, and development of international programs. The AVP works with faculty and with other administrators to develop policies governing international programs and leads the campus in implementing these policies. The AVP will expand the university’s international culture and programs by expanding short-term study abroad and longer-term exchange opportunities for students, increasing faculty exchange programs, promoting international collaborative projects, expanding strategic relationships with global partners, and recruiting international students.
The AVP works closely with academic deans, department chairs, faculty, and other campus leaders and is responsible for building and maintaining strong and collaborative relationships with other campus units and working with appropriate faculty across the university to develop programming and curriculum. Other duties, chosen in consultation with the provost, may be assigned to reflect the successful candidate’s expertise and interests.
