The Department of Family, Youth and Community Sciences (FYCS) at the University of Florida announces the opening for the Department Chair. The Chair provides leadership to departmental programs in teaching, research, and Extension; administration of the human and financial resources and acquisition of internal and external resources.

An earned doctorate and a record of outstanding achievement and professional activities related to teaching, research, Extension, and/or industry that will qualify the individual to be a tenured full professor in the Department are required. POSITION:  Assistant/Associate Professor, Nutrition & Dietetics -- 9-month appointment, 60% teaching, 30% research, 10% service: tenure-track position to begin September 1, 2012.

RESPONSIBILITIES:  The successful candidate will be expected to:

  • Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in nutrition and dietetics
  • Recruit and advise undergraduate and graduate students
  • Maintain an active research program, including grants and publications
  • Involve students in research and direct graduate student thesis/non-thesis research projects
  • Participate in professional, university, and community service
