Assistant/Associate Professor- Human Development and Family Relationships

The Department of Family and Consumer Sciences is seeking team-oriented candidates for an assistant/associate professor in Human Development/Family Relationships (HDFR) beginning on August 16, 2012. The anticipated appointment is 75% teaching and 25% research/scholarly activity. The preferred candidate will have an earned doctorate in human development, family studies or related field.  ABDs will be considered.  Candidates must demonstrate the potential to teach courses in two or more of the following areas: human development, child life, family studies.  Preference will be given to candidates with university teaching experience.  CFLE preferred. Responsibilities: Teach undergraduate/graduate courses, develop a focused area of scholarship, mentor graduate students, supervise undergraduate and graduate students at professional practice sites, and provide service to the University, Department, profession and community. The Department of Human Development and Family Studies (HDFS) in the College of Human Sciences at Iowa State University invites applications for three tenured/tenure track faculty positions at the Assistant, Associate or Professor rank, beginning August 2012. One position is in family finance; the areas of expertise of two positions are open. The department seeks innovative and enthusiastic colleagues who will enhance synergies in the department, who are dedicated to high quality research and teaching, and who are interested in joining a dynamic multidisciplinary faculty.
