The Department of Curriculum and Instruction at Kansas State University invites applications for a tenure track assistant professor position with exceptional potential in Career and Technical Education (CTE). Responsibilities include: Coordinating Career and Technical Education programs leading to 6-12 teacher licensure; teaching and supervising pre-service teacher candidates in EITHER Secondary Business Education OR Family and Consumer Sciences (FACS) education; engaging in research and scholarship in CTE; collaborating with colleagues in the Department of Curriculum and Instruction and the College of Education and serving as liaison to colleagues in the College of Business, the College of Human Ecology, the College of Agriculture, and the K-State Polytechnic Campus; serving the professional development and/or graduate course needs for the early career alternatively licensed CTE teachers and traditional graduate students; Advising graduate students in C&I; planning, writing, and implementing extramural funded projects; and providing service to the department, college, university, and profession.

The Successful Candidate will:

Required Minimum Qualifications:

  1. Earned doctorate in an appropriate discipline (e.g., Curriculum and Instruction, Business education, FACS).
  2. At least three years of CTE teaching experience in an accredited secondary school in the United States.
  3. Evidence of teaching excellence.
  4. Potential and commitment to conduct and publish research.

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. University teaching experience in a teacher education program with a field-based component.
  2. Experience with diverse populations.
  3. Evidence of ability to obtain extramural funding.
  4. Evidence of professional service.
