Position: Assistant or Associate Professor, Dietetics, Position #8394 (beginning January or August 2018). Tenure track, nine-month appointment is for fall/spring semesters, with the possibility of additional summer teaching assignments.
Qualifications: Earned doctorate or completion of doctorate by December 1, 2017 in human nutrition or closely related field with significant graduate coursework in human nutrition. Must be a Registered Dietitian. Evidence of successful teaching experience, research/scholarly activities, and experience with or promise of seeking external funding. Strong classroom and interpersonal skills. Preference will be given to candidates with prior practitioner experience.
Duties: Teach undergraduate and graduate-level courses including research methods and graduate metabolic nutrition. Supervise Master's students. Coordinate undergraduate experiential service learning program. Actively seek external funding to support research and scholarly activities. Participate in curriculum development and program evaluation. Serve on department, college and university committees. Other duties as assigned by the department chair.
Department: The dietetics program is part of the Department of Family and Consumer Sciences which offers six undergraduate programs, two master's degrees and a Ph.D. in Educational Leadership with a concentration in Workforce Education. The dietetics program offers a B.S. in Dietetics, a graduate 40-week dietetic internship program, and a Master of Arts in Family and Consumer Sciences with a concentration in dietetics. Both the undergraduate and dietetic internship programs are fully re-accredited by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND) through 2022.
